The Georgia General Assembly is Georgia’s lawmaking body.
SENATORS AND REPRESENTATIVES
Members of the Georgia General Assembly are called Senators and Representatives. They are elected every two years and serve the district from which they are elected. There are 180 representatives in the State House of Representatives, and 56 senators in the State Senate.
The ACLU of Georgia sent questionnaires to each candidate in all of Georgia’s 236 districts soliciting positions on key civil liberties issues. We compiled the responses we received from the candidates and have produced them as a service to Georgia voters.
